What to do with large volumes of grass cuttings?

I have over an acre of grass which I cut every week to too weeks. I live in Ireland, where drought and heat isn't a problem. At the moment we dump it in a corner of our field, although it isn't decomposing well , and we have a small rooms full. We can't put it back on the lawn, as its too long to mulch. Also, we haven't enough beds to put it on as fertilizer. Is there any way we can burn it? Oh yeah we haven't ANY bin collection.
