During prophase chromosomes condense into what form?

Actually in Prophase, the chromosomes do not condense into any form. They simple become visible. But i think you might be meaning as to what chromosomes are called when they undergo replication? They form a pair of sister chromatids that are linked together at the centromere. As far as I know, chromosomes do not condense into any form during Prophase! :)
