Sawdust Mulch questions?

I have a raised vegetable garden. I thought it would be a good idea to mulch sawdust around the bed to keep grass from growing. (not in the bed) Anyway, I didn't think about getting it all over me while I tend the garden. Do you have ay suggestions to keeping this down. Maybe laying something over it? I really don't want to remove it.
